Could really taste the vanilla which is a great touch, normally you can't taste the vanilla in vanilla porters. Very crisp at first but not something I'd drink alot but not too bad

Definitely able to taste the vanilla. Nice touch

Coffee and cocoa notes on the nose. I got a slight citrus tang on the nose but nothing on the tongue. Roasted malt color, beautiful. Thin mouth taste, however, with a weak watery finish. Very subtle vanilla finish but not enough to justify naming the beer vanilla. Too weak for a porter but pleasant once you've downgraded your expectations.

Nice coffee kick. No Vanilla to be had. So-so in the finish.

Excellent upfront taste of coffee, terrible finish of vanilla extract.

Rich finish. All of the characteristics that you look for in a seasonal brew. Great one to drink putting up the Christmas tree.

Deep mahogany color, no lacing on glass.

Rich and sweet up front, with a cherry almond finish. Clean finish.

This pours dark with a slight copper tinge when held to the light. The thin head (the 1" of foam depicted on the box was never present) disappeared within 10 seconds of finishing the pour. Those nose had coffee and roasted malts that were apparent but not strong. There was coffee flavors on the tongue moderated by a vanilla presence that was quite nice. Cocoa or chocolate was in the background as well. The mouthfeel was surprisingly thin. The finish was rather sudden with no lingering flavors to speak of. I'm not a fan of porters and stouts, but I was looking forward to trying this offering from Leine's. I expected more creaminess and bolder flavors. This was disappointing. But if you are new to porters or want something less strong, this might be for you.

Inoffensive, decent flavor that is just a bit too watery.
