An above average IPA. Hoppy up front and a lingering aftertaste.

Not what I was expecting, was expecting it to be bitter af but it was nice and smooth edit: the after taste was terrible with this beer, great taste other than that.

Nice IPA. Just enough bite and Carmel notes to make a well balanced beer.

I've read decent reviews on this beer so I approached it with a positive stance. On initial nosing of the beer, I would use the word tame. Nothing stood out except for a very faint hint of citrus. Very faint. Tasting was not what I expected. I picked up a stronger hint of citrus but I would describe it as "stale orange" on the tongue. For an IPA, I detected nothing of the traditional New England hops. Ok beer, but it's nowhere near the top.

This is a bitter brew. The fist IPA I tried about 100 IPAs ago. A tough first IPA. Rather strong. But it is the beer that introduced me to the character of hops. Before that it was mainly the bland additions in main stream lagers. This opened my eyes in more ways than one. Maybe not the best first IPA for some but it worked for me. I do have to be in the mood for a real piney bitter brew when grabbing a Smutty (finest kind)
