BigEd2015 - August 26, 2015
12.3% ABV

Looking at the other tasting notes, I was surprised. Then I realized, they were for the 2014 batch. I tried the 2015 release, and I was utterly appalled!!
Overtones of bandaids and gasoline (not exaggerating...bandaids and gasoline). Slippery, glycerin mouthfeel. Flavor fairly one-dimensional, with an almost medicine aftertaste (okay...two-dimensional?).
Normally, I love Smuttynose beers. They're usually top-notch. So I'll put it up to a bad batch or maybe the odd infected bottle. But WOW!! This is seriously off beer! And if it's the batch, it's the worst QC I've ever tasted!!

2015, 12.3 ABV. Good quad. A bit sweet, but otherwise very good.

Nice beer.. Far from the best quad but respectable for a 11.5% abv.. Heavy alcohol burn, but the Belgian yeast comes through to release some interesting esters.. I wish it had a bit more of that dark fruit flavor, but all and all for an abv this high it deserves respect.. 3.5 stars

Having the 2014 version, not bad but nothing too special...11.5% abv according to the bottle.

Had at lions pride - very fruity, almost tasted like wine

5 stars not for being one of the best beers ever, but for being as good as or better than many quads that cost 3x as much or more. Lots of dried fruits as well as a touch of bright fruit and enough carbonation to keep it from being overly syrupy, but still on style. No ABV on bottle... The Smuttynose site says it varies by batch. This early 2013 seemed like about 11-12% to me. Just a fab beer for six bucks.

Too sweet even for this category. Overly carbonated.
