Strong flavors in combination. Middle to heavy mead with strong vanilla chaser. Good for breakfast or dessert.

Very strong scotch/bourbon taste.. The smell is strong and it is best when sipped like a scotch. I enjoyed smacking my lips repeatedly after sipping this delicious 5000 year old beer.

Unfortunately the quality and caliber of this beer are rather hit or miss in my experience, and more often miss of late. When it's on, or perhaps in it's former glory, Skullsplitter is exceptionally balanced for this style, and posesses a subtle and delightful peat smokiness. In this state, it's the best representation of the Scotch Ale style I've had.
