Hoppy no surprise. Great aged

Let it mature. Put it in the closet till at least next year. You will not be sorry

The older the better. Had a 2009 vs. 2012. 2009 calmed the bitterness. Top 5 beers.

Good beer, but strong as hell! I get a headache every time I drink one. Very dark beer.

Ruby copper colored pour into tulip glass. Tan head leaves moderate lace. Molasses, burnt sugar and ethanol warmth emerge in a complex bouquet. Flavors include caramel, ethanol and hoppy bitter finish that lingers. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Hop heavy barleywine that is unusual for the style. High ABV makes itself known as it warms.

Bottle: Pleasing hoppy aroma. Taste has lots of hop bitterness at first but finishes clean. Very hoppy... probably good for the hopheads, but not my bag.

Very hoppy and rich

A really unusual barley wine, much hoppier than expected and hardly any alcohol aromas or tastes. That is to say, way more sessionable, or it would be, if not for the surprising ABV. This tastes way too refreshing for 9%...which definitely isn't a bad thing.
