Newest beer in the saranac high peaks series as of may 2014, single malt strong scotch ale aged in whiskey barrels.
Deep amber in color with a thin white head that quickly dissipates leaving a thin white layer. Sweet bready malt aromas similar to a malty Oktoberfest beer.
Silky and smooth the sweet malty scotch ale coats your tongue with a burnt caramel malty flavor and a boozy warming finish. Very tasty enjoyable scotch ale, you get the aged whiskey notes on the subtle finish. Has layers of flavor.
A solid high peaks beer from saranac and a beer that is very unlike them. Also thought it was smart to move to 4 packs instead of bomber bottles.
