Sweet & a little nutty. Tasty, but prolly too sweet to have more than 1-2 in a night.

As a newer beer drinker, I haven't found my way with porters yet. However, after trying this maple pecan Sam adams I must say that it has opened my mind to giving other porters a chance. This has a great balance of flavors. Not too dark to handle, but not too light either. Very satisfied with this tasty porter brew. Will drink again. Thanks Sam!

Surprisingly decent porter, hint of maple, some nuttiness. Not as sweet as the name implies.

Very nice pecan flavor on the back end.

The first word that comes to mind is roasted. This has a roasted flavor to it that I found appealing, mainly due to the very slight hint of maple syrup in the aftertaste. The color is a deep, reddish brown, and it poured with a solid two fingers of foam that faded to almost nothing after 3-4 minutes. The aroma of maple syrup was especially prominent in the nose, but even after I finished, I could still detect sweet notes on my lips and tongue. A very interesting and tasty porter.

Different. Tastes like Sunday breakfast. Too mapley for me.
