I'm not used to seeing Doppelbock this light in color with such a sweet and liquor filled smell or with a body as heavy as this, but the beer does deliver. At 14%, claiming to be the worlds strongest beer, the smooth almost Schnapps-like texture amazes you how delightful it is to drink, even gulp. Caution with the latter though, it's like having a 30 proof chilled shot glass in a 12 ounce bottle. It is a delightful beer but most definitely not one you'd chose to have on a hot summer day.

Rich complex malty flavor. You know it is a high alcohol beer but it doesn't overpower the flavor or take away from the enjoyment. You have to pour it cold but you won't be able to fully appreciate this beer until it warms up some. Really one of the most incredibly delicious beers out there.

No head or lacing, interesting movement on to like tadpoles or Mosquitos. Smell is grape, dates, very sweet. Heavy Caramel, dates, grapes, alcohol is not hidden but not too overbearing. Chocolate, vanilla Oakiness very complex. Syrupy, fairly flat. Very little carbonation. Malts are slightly roasted. 14% starts to come out heavier as we get to the bottom of the glass.

Aromatic tasty malt bomb. This will sure make the 4" of snow seem less bad in April!

Sweet, barley wine-type flavor. A bit of booziness. Attractive carbonation.
