bockboy@att.net - June 1, 2020B to B+. Had a 2014 in May of 2020. It was very sweet toward the toffee and molasses flavors. A bit boozy, but pretty smooth, no hops to speak of. I prefer the Classic.

superdeckman - December 24, 2015Fantastic. 2013 bottle. Pours velvet with no head. Smells like apples, raisins and cherries. On pull chocolate, cherries very sweet and smooth with good mouth feel

llinn - December 23, 2014Yes you can taste alcohol...it's 14%. That's not a downside to this beer's quality. Malt characteristics are really what drives the sweetness. The sweetness also softens the high alcohol content. My go to Christmas aperitif.
Note-there are seasonal differences in this beer. Aging changes the characteristics. Can be aged for at least 7 years.
Aroma-malt and sugar.
Appearance-golden. Similar to a helles bock.

Homer's Beer Odyssey - November 18, 2014APPEARANCE - Dark red-amber with a 1-finger head that lasts. Good lacing.
AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, floral, herbaceous.
TASTE - Sweet, floral, herbaceous. Spices. Boozy. Lights you up immediately.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Gooey. Little carbonation.
VALUE - Reasonable.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - I did not like this beer. At best, sippable.

tslgirl - August 31, 2013Malty backbone, way sweet. Nicely balanced, but a lot of alcohol. Goes down smooth, which can be dangerous!
