B to B+. Had a 2014 in May of 2020. It was very sweet toward the toffee and molasses flavors. A bit boozy, but pretty smooth, no hops to speak of. I prefer the Classic.

Fantastic. 2013 bottle. Pours velvet with no head. Smells like apples, raisins and cherries. On pull chocolate, cherries very sweet and smooth with good mouth feel

Yes you can taste alcohol...it's 14%. That's not a downside to this beer's quality. Malt characteristics are really what drives the sweetness. The sweetness also softens the high alcohol content. My go to Christmas aperitif.
Note-there are seasonal differences in this beer. Aging changes the characteristics. Can be aged for at least 7 years.
Aroma-malt and sugar.
Appearance-golden. Similar to a helles bock.

APPEARANCE - Dark red-amber with a 1-finger head that lasts. Good lacing.
AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, floral, herbaceous.
TASTE - Sweet, floral, herbaceous. Spices. Boozy. Lights you up immediately.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Gooey. Little carbonation.
VALUE - Reasonable.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - I did not like this beer. At best, sippable.

Malty backbone, way sweet. Nicely balanced, but a lot of alcohol. Goes down smooth, which can be dangerous!
