FitchDrums - October 9, 2016Very smooth with a great malt finish. Tastes of cocoa, caramel, and very, very smooth. Just a hint of that Russian flavor.
Fonar - August 31, 2015A local favorite of mine, this pours a super dark brown,with a hint of deep blood red. It gives a big, frothy, fizzy, light brown head that really sizzles near the edges of the glass. It is very unusual to see that. Just a bit of lace and the head dissipates quickly. With aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, molasses and some spice, you can just tell this is going to be a very rich stout.
It is so smooth and so much flavor that I immediately picture myself hanging out in the Berkshires. It gives a huge dark chocolate taste with heavily roasted malt, and a bit of sweet at the tail. I love every velvety sip. Very impressive Massachusetts beer with a great balance of roasted malt and sweetness.
