Nice stout... Boozy to start and a dash of anise... Then transitions quickly to dark chocolate and a dark roasted coffee flavors .... Not much of a lingering bite despite the big abv for a Russian imperial ...Happy to finally find this guy.. Been searching for years...4 stars

Really good imperial coffee stout. Strong dark chocolate and coffee taste, fruit and mild licorice finish. Exceptionally smooth and silky. On tap at Owen & Engine, May 2015.

Upon pour. It's milky thick and looks delish. Nice head. Lots of floral scents. Maybe violets. Tastes delish. So much floral taste but I am still wanting something more. Slightly disappointed but still a good beer.

Appearance - deep dark brown. With a touch of finesse mahogany. Thin head swirled around on top during the pour and disappeared as soon as the bottom of the bottle hit the table.
Aroma - coffee and hot alcohol
Flavor - sticky sweet caramel and dark stone fruit. Acidic, burnt coffee and hop bitterness ride on the back of dark chocolate. Tannin like dryness along the top of the tongue
Body - Sunday pancake syrup thinned out with warm alcohol and low to mid carbonation.
Overall - big complex but well defined flavors with noticeable alcohol flavor and aroma. Would like less of the caramel and fruits. The syrup is a little strong on this one.

No carbonation, very smooth. Mid bodied, but oily. Bitter, coffee notes. Sweet. Balances the ABV very well. Flavor doesn't last too long and could be thicker; but it is still one of the best stouts. 4.25

Strong roasted taste with high alcohol and coffee taste that slaps you in the face very strong and rich. Might be too much for me!
