Unlike anything I've tasted before in a beer. A dizzying combination of rich, really rich malty sweetness, high but perfectly balanced alcohol, and Belgian-style moderate hop bitterness. The flavor is deep, profound and complex, and the alcohol lends substance and gravitas. A beer to sip and savor from a regal goblet. Excellent!

We had this as part of a flight @ The Yard. Amy was surprised that she liked it so much. She said "fruit explosion in my mouth". Sally liked it too!

APPEARANCE - Opaque, foamy, lots of lacing, amber, 3FH that lasts.
AROMA/SCENT - Hops, malts, yeast, floral, sweet.
TASTE - Malts, yeast, sweet, coffee, caramel, brown sugar.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Carbonation, creamy, lingering, warming.
VALUE - $9.00 for an 11-oz bottle. A bit pricey, even for an import.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - This beer simply is no more hoppy than regular Piraat Tripel.

High alcohol but good taste. Careful opening bottle as the foam tends to rise quickly. Nice head off the pour. Due to alcohol content best to drink only one.
