Wonderful nose, heavy on sour cherries, good mouthfeel

First thing you notice is the striking shade of red. Starts so noticeably tart it gets your attention as soon as it hits your mouth. Finishes as a true Belgium ale.

Has a strong smell of cherries. Nice sweet cherry taste then it blends quickly to tartness. Very low bitterness. Good cherry aftertaste and some vanilla notes probably due to the oak. Plus you can taste the alcohol but not too overwhelming.

3.5 for the style, 3.0 for my preferences. Real cherry flavor, not like fake syrup at all, but the aging alters the flavor to both mellow the tartness and darken the flavors in a way that's unique, but not my favorite. I am a big fan of sour beers, so for me this is too mellow / not sour enough. Good effort from a great brand, though.

Deep red, medium head with great retention. Cherry flavor with sour finish. Very unique.

Way cherry, but not cloying.
