Out of the ashes is actually their smoked beer series. The entire line up us worth trying. This one is the Rauchbier. Smells like rubber, campfire, and dark malt. Taste is like drinking smoked bacon. Delicious.

Smells like camping. Unique smoky-sweet aroma, but the combination of hops and smoke gives it a bit of a chemical/medicinal off-flavor.

Couldn't believe how smokey this beer was. It was over the top.

I a fan of FCB and this is not one of their better efforts. Gold hue with modest head. Comes across as a pretty good Pale Ale with floral hop aromas and refreshing palate. IMO it utterly fails as a Rauchbier. There is so little smoke character that it's literally indiscernible. 'Nough said.
