Delicious. Very smooth for its strength. I have had one fresh and one that was 3 years old. 3 year old was faaaar sweeter, and sweet like as in dates and figs are sweet. My girlfriend didn't like how sweet it was, I was all over it. Fresh was still delicious, but more boozy and bitter. Either way, one of the best barley wines out there. Drink it with people you love.

If you like beer it's not for you!! If you like wine give it a try.. I couldn't get through a glass of it.

Strong alcohol followed by a blast of bitterness. Toffee and vanilla appear as the beer warms up. A different animal if aged! Awesome American barleywine.

Aged a year plus. Smell is of a nice ale, simple. Great taste on the tip of the tongue, nice lasting yeast flavors then a boom of malt. Not too sweet, warm though. ABV is so hidden, dangerously smooth. Belgian dark ale vibe. Nice burn on the afterglow. Though, one would probably be enough (taste wise)

Holy god. Probably my favorite barleywine and seriously WAY too damn smooth for 15% abv! Really great lesser known dogfish beer that I think deserves more attention

Nice aroma, sweet like raisins. Tastes similar, with additional spices. Great barley wine, and one of my favorite dogfish head beers so far
