Drinking a 2013 in 2016. Pours a lovely copper color with nice off-white head, which quickly gives way no doubt from the high gravity. No longer hop aromas, but all the bitterness is still there. Malty flavors are lingering, but not pronounced. Flavors are actually pretty out of whack right now. Should let this age for minimum 2-3 more years and ideally 5+ years to bring out the toffee and caramel indicative of well-aged barley wines. Wait on this one...you'll be glad you did.

This is only my second barley wine , too much alcohol burn for me

Dark caramel color. Slightly bitter, slightly sweet. Good malty flavor. Smooth, yet hoppy.

Very good. Smells of plums and raisens. Get a cherry, coffee and chocolate taste.

Love this stuff. It's kindoff sweet since I'm an IPA guy but well worth trying.

Wow. Thick. Bitter sting with a lasting impression, caramel pine slight citrus, lasting hop impression with malt backbone
