A-. Fairly bitter as I drank this in 2015. Alcohol present. Could age several more years. Some dried peach and fig taste with light toffee flavors.

Kind of rough.. Carmel, malty, but the hop finish is bad..... However 11.6% abv is bad ass and you have to expect that from an overrated brewery like Stone.. 3 stars....generous but I'll tip my hat for this powerful barleywine, just wish the hops were less potent..

Hoppier than it needs to be just like many other micro-brews. In spite of that fact, it still manages to be decent. Not a beer that I'd seek out to have again.

This is the 2014 release. I have not had previous year releases. This is a mild, balanced brew. Beautiful copper color and if poured large, has a nice head. Overall a good brew.
