Dark amber, guiness-like head, but smaller. Smells of sweet caramel . Very sweet up front and on the finish. Malty, bready, caramel and toffee. A bit too sweet for my taste, but a nice beer.

Good, guiness like but sweeter

Just ok, would not drink again. Too much sweetness and maltiness.

Full malty flavor. Dark Scottish ale.

not a typical Scottish/scotch ale... a bit lighter in it's malt with a bit of a drier feel and some hops... but great tasting... and a good 8% on the alcohol makes it a strong drink...overall they've done a good job in creating a Scottish style while maintaining a smooth drink ability, especially considering the abv... great brewery!!

Asked Tasty Bev what NC beer they recommend for someone who likes Old Peculiar. Old Chub was a good call. Other family members liked it better than OP.

I don't know who is rating this low enough to drag the average, but this is an amazing beer. If you like stouts on the sweet side, this is as good as it gets. It's a coffee and chocolate malt in a very drinkable ensemble.
