Smooth. Obviously good, but I just don't get it.

Nice take on the style. Dark and malty! Great cascading head. Smells of malt, with a little smoke and burnt chocolate. Tastes of roasted malts, cocoa, and a little smoke. Feels buttery smooth, making it sit very heavy. Nice one!

Soooo smooth. Surprisingly smooth. Like velvet.

I have been to both Ireland and Scotland. Even though this is billed as a Scottish ale, it reminds me more of Guinness as served in Dublin than it does of anything I ever had in Scotland. That is a good thing since Guinness in Dublin is the single best beer I've ever had. So this may be the single best beer I've ever had in the good old USA.

A bit too dark. No fizz . Drinkable.
