web - January 1, 2014Appearance is quite dark, root beer when leaned in the light, otherwise solid espresso color. Nice tan head with cool-shaped lacing like a hippo head amidst foreign countries.
Aroma has caramel and light nuts and chocolate, almost like a chocolate root beer float.
Medium mouthfeel with a nice light creaminess floating around after swallowing.
Taste is moderately bitter at first, there's a toasty bitterness that lingers for minutes. The following tastes, though, add caramel and nut and light cocoa powder with increasing vanilla aftertaste until the chocolate root beer float is closer to reality than fantasy.
Overall: A solid brown that starts like a bitter dark chocolate and develops into a semi-sweet chocolate infused with vanilla beans.
