Sometimes, this is an amazing American ipa, but it seems like there is some variability in batches.

Aroma is soggy hops, particularly citrus notes of grapefruit. In the middle of the sequence of scents there are citrus rinds, concluding with scents of orange and tangerine. Thus, this aroma is one of the strongest parts of this IPA.
Pours a bronze body with LOTS of visible carbonation. A dense and thick 1 inch off-white head with very nice lacing.
Taste is a nice bitterness that is forward and follows through to a short and subtle aftertaste. The grapefruit flavors are not sharp but they are the predominate tone emerging from the bitterness. I appreciate the lack of a dry alcohol flavor, it allows the bitterness to dance on the tongue. The palate is a thin to medium body that is slightly sticky. Despite the visible carbonation, the carbonation is not strong, which is complimented by a lack of burn of alcohol.
Overall there is a pleasant bitterness that is somewhat weak but nonetheless pronounced in that there is little malt flavor to compliment it. The hops are almost completely citrus notes of grapefruit that border on hints of fruit notes of pear. Like eating a grapefruit, but with 6.5 abv. Tasty.

Dangerous beer. VERY drinkable and smooth. Not very citrusy or perfumey with a good hop flavor. Nice aftertaste. Really enjoyable.

I typically don't like IPAs because they're too hoppy for my taste. But I enjoyed this one. However, my aunt who has had a long time love affair with the IPA said she didn't like this one because it tasted like metal.

A terrific hoppy IPA

Enough of a hoppy taste for some goodness but not too much as to be overly bitter and make you want to switch to something else.

Not overly hoppy, I like to use this on black and tan
