Very similar to traditional Newcastle with a gentle rye tone. Not overly excited by this beer

Not blood red as advertised. More light brown with ruby tint. Weak tasting. Some malt and berry taste with some bitter. Wouldn't buy again.

Dark nutty malt flavor. The rye malt comes through and adds some depth, bitterness and body with its toasty, grainy-bready overtones. Not too shabby. More flavor than the brown ale.

Chocolate aftertaste :-)

Not enough of a deviation from standard Newcastle to really merit the effort...

Nice flavor. Not as strong as killians.

Amber color with thin white head and little lace. Malt aromas with rye. Tastes of malt at first with rye grainy flavor and lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with active carbonation. Not bad but not great.

Retains that Newcastle-ish nutty taste note while doing something different... #hmm

More bitter on the aftertaste than regular Newcastle brown ale.
