A tasty, complex stout from the beautiful town and good people of Holland, Michigan.

Good roasted flavors. Not too much and not too little. Bitter chocolate notes.

28DEC13, Flanagan's, Louisville, KY 12oz, pint Pours black with half finger tan head. Smells like an oatmeal stout. Tastes like an oatmeal stout. A bit nice in the sharpness of the creaminess. Good.

A great oatmeal stout. Full of flavor with a smooth taste.

Substantial head when poured. Delicious caramel aroma. Head tastes of bitter grapefruit. Crisp, bitter grapefruit and chocolate up front gives way to mellow and sweet oatmeal. Aeration brings out creamy flavor and bitter chocolate. Finishes with a light toasted flavor. Hop flavor is pleasantly noticeable, but definitely not overpowering—it balances very well. Very creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Overall an excellent beer! :-)

I love oatmeal stouts but this one is pretty one note and boring. Decent flavor and intense darkness but left me uninterested at the end of the day.
