B+ to A-. Tried this fresh and again in 2015. Very good both times, old version seemed thinner, but great aged flavors. Think Imperial American Brown, as the label states.

Nice bottle design. At first taste it is definitely a stout with the aroma and taste of the teriyaki sauce used on chicken at a sushi restaurant

It's taken a lot to warm me up to brown ales, but brews like this one sure do help. The label says that that the hop character is perfectly matched to the malts, and it lives up to its claim. The thicker mouthfeel and slight nut taste just before the finish are also endearing. There is a tiny boozy burn, is nice. Inexpensive and high ABV make it a great value. Bottle.

Good for a 3 dollar trader joes beer nothing spectacular, but at 8.5% it'll do the trick and taste pretty decent in the process. Great pick if you're on a budget.
