06.20.13 - Notes of honey, raspberry, and blackberry. Extremely smooth deep caramels and berries with surprising tart finish, with no burn.

At industry in nola. Delicious. Smooth no hops. Chocolatey. In bottle.

Like a slightly more boozy chimay. I really like it. Very smooth but With warm bite considering the 12%. Warm dry fruity notes, sweet side as well, very complex. Worth another try for sure.

Sweet, raisin nose. Chocolate pour. Rich, malty sweetness full of sticky fruits and a hint of caramel.

A good quad. All the expected favors except that alcohol is extremely hidden. Not as complex as the rochefort. Also metallic flavor somewhat spoils it

The nose is dominated by sweet plums, caramel, and bready yeast. It is dark brown with a fantastic creamy, tan head with superb retention and smooth lacing. It is quite sweet in flavour as well with faint hints of chocolate alongside the ever-present dark fruits, but this sweetness is pleasant to me as it hides the ABV that could otherwise take over. It brings a fairly full body with a medium carbonation, but perhaps not quite enough of a drying finish (if somewhat present) to balance for the sweetness, but it presents those notes so well, that this 'flaw' is, at most, negligible! Grade: A
