Pours copper from the can to a Dogfish Head snifter. No head. Hardly any alcohol legs for 11.7% ABV. Low to moderate carbonation. Smell: fantastic! Huge sweet citrus and honey aroma. Taste: sweet citrus hops up front, a full malt rush in the middle, and a huge alcohol warmth on the back end that has a warm finish. Mouthfeel is full, not from the carbonation, but from the sheer weight in sweet malt flavor of this beer. Overall: a hoppy American Barleywine that's pretty good but not great. A "middle of the road" American Barleywine.

Strong alcohol taste, flavorful, a little nutty, sweet and a bit syrupy but in a good way. Fruity aromatics and a touch of earthiness. Really happy with this barleywine, but a bit pricey at Bevmo!

92 IBUs, 11.5% ABV
Very drinkable for a barley wine, a little heavy on the alcohol flavor
