As a porter this was outstanding because it sported a tasty chocolate flavor without sweet overtones ! Loved it!

Chocolatey beer, with just a hint of coffee. One of the first beers that I have liked that had any kind of coffee flavor.

Pours dark brown, topped by a fair tan head of moderate retention and smooth lacing. Aroma is slightly earthy/musty yeast with burnt toast predominant and fainter remnants of nuts and dark cherries. Taste is dominated by burnt toast with a bitter cocoa finish and a trace of yeasty spice. Fair carbonation, but an almost thick chewiness to a finely full body.

01AUG12, Flying Saucer, Nashville, TN Bottle 750ml Tiny bit of chocolate in the sweet aroma. Fairly well rounded, a little bitter on a mildly dry finish, with some chocolate rounding it out.
