Smokey dark but surprisingly smooth

Dark pour with medium creamy head. Teasing smokey bread aromas. Surprising light body. Excellent smoke/charred would flavors and tinges of hop and sour notes. Nice clean finish with lingering smokiness.

Smoky wheat bear. A bit watery.

A: Jet black with a thick and sturdy head retention with dense lacing on the glass
A: The smoked malt is quite apparent on the nose along with slight metallic and sourness
T: This was my first Gratzer and didn't know what to expect. I'm glad this zombie beer was resurrected. At colder temperature this beer tastes much like a smoked porter with a sharp hop bitterness. As the beer warms, a sourness comes out and really makes you realize the complexity of the beer. Smoky, chocolate, oak, sourness and just enough good to establish a remarkable balance
M: Carbonation is medium to low. The sourness makes the beer feel light and effervescent
A: The sweet and smokiness stays with you for a while
Food Pairing: A smoked meat of some sort would pair nicely but I would keep the seasoning simple to let the complexity of the beer shine through. A smoked cheese would be great as well

Some smoky metallic funk. Worked well with a bison burger. Drank on tap.

Not my gig. First smoky brew I have tried and I decided I like my BBQ smoky not my beer. Take the smoky out and it seems to be pretty smooth and easy. If you like the smoky flavor give it a try.
