Sweet and nutty. A heavy dark brown ale that is a bit thick. Ok beer, not my fav.

11/12/14 on draught at Lowlander in Covent Garden - very tasty dubbel. Pours a rich dark brown; upfront hints of clove and mild licorice. Clean finish; hint I metal.

First off the abv is 7%...But enough of me doing Brew Genes job let's talk about this amazing beer.. 5 stars.. La Trappe nails it again.. My new favorite dubbel (yea it may have even surpassed Allagash's Dubbel) .. Might even be one of my favorite beers of all time Period..Tastes similar to a high quality winter warmer, but a touch lighter.. Starts off with a smooth nutty flavor then ends with subtle grape and cherry flavors.. Out of this world.. Can't compete with the Trappist Ales

Pours dark ruby with off white head that stays.
Aroma of dark fruits, carmel, raisins and dark plums.
Taste "sweetish," fruity, malty and creamy.
Finish is candy sweet with a bit of bitter.

Comes on very strong. Peaks and fades into swear and smooth finish. Overall;: Amazing.
Bottle 2/2013

Interesting nose. Aromas of raisins and figs, plums and bananas. Taste is a bit odd, slightly funky, malty, little hops and yeast. Pretty good. Worth a try
