Taste like the candy in Belgium that we call "poepkes". Very sweet!

Too sweet. Lacking the intense tartness and sour profile I was looking for. Lacking malty/yeasty complexity. Low carbonation. Completely tastes like cherry juice or cherry soda rather than beer.

I think the low ratings this beer has received is a result of people simply not understanding how a kreik beer is supposed to taste or possibly what it is to begin with. A kreik is a Belgian Ale traditionally brewed with a massive amount of kreik (cherry) juice added during fermentation. Brewed once a year, this beer is usually aged, sometimes for years, until maturity. Ter Dolen's kreik offering is near perfect for the style. Soft, balanced, fruity without being cloying, with a clean, bright finish that leaves you longing for another sip. Give this beauty a try. Yes, it's not what you want when you're looking for an IPA or a Belgian triple. But if you want to give your tastebuds a lift and drink life in a bowl of cherries, this is a beautiful beer to try!!

Really Good Taste!! But as a beer kind of a cheerleader beer.
