It didn't taste very strong Nice flavor but didn't care for the finish as much.

B. All malt, very complex, just not an IPA, English or otherwise. More like an Amber.

Clear dark Amber almost brown in color tan head. Not hoppy more malty. First taste like an IPA. Below average but cheap

Not very hoppy

Trader Joe's in the US offers this rare example of how an English IPA differs from the modern American IPA. This English IPA is more subtlety hopped, allowing for the malt taste to dominate. Great choice for those of us who are bored with the countless overly hopped west coast IPA clones in the US market. Also no cheesy hop-based pun in the title with this beer, which is great for a change.

More malty than hoppy, very mild IPA. Wouldn't buy this again as I prefer West Coast IPAs that have a bite.

Dark brown in color. Low carbonation. Closer to an amber brown ale than an IPA. Perhaps this bottle has lost some of its hops - no brewed on date. Ok.

An English IPA from Trader Joe's. Pours an amber color with minimum head. Sweet and bready on the nose with caramel notes. Medium body and slight carbonation. Subtle hop bitterness is overpowered by a distinct malt backbone. This seems like more of an ESB rather than IPA. Would pair well with steak, pizza, and hot sandwiches like grilled cheese. English IPAs are known to be less hop forward than American IPAs. However Trader Joe's described it as "highly hopped" which added to the disappointment. Although not terrible, this is a boring and easily forgettable beer.
