Starts off hoppy, but settles in smooth. Not filling.

Malty smooth with a hint of scotch

2013 Kilt Lifter is by far the smoothest Moylan's has released in years. I disliked every previous version due to its intensity and only because of a love of Scotch strong ales and a friend's undying devotion for it did I try it again each year. I'm glad I did -- If you like this year's, try Devil's Canyon Full Boar Scotch Ale, which is sweeter with a hint of peat moss.

A perfect malt taste. This is a great afternoon, or evening drinker. Leaves no unpleasant aftertaste. I would buy this again and again as this is my third time drinking this brew. Fourth time and for some reason it reminds me of a peanut butter a jelly sandwich.

Dry, pretty light (non-creamy) for scotch ale. Sweet finish as glass empties.

Malty and refreshing. No bitter or hoppy aftertaste.
