Dr Why - October 2, 2022A very good Marzen that compares favorably to the more widely available Sam Adams Octoberfest. In a taste comparison my perception that the hops used-Perle hops imported directly from the Hallertau region of Germany can be tasted more than in the Sam?s. My wife who likes hop taste more than me prefers the Strauss. Still with IBU of only 20, not bitter. Just less malt forward than Sams.

Beerguy33 - October 14, 201510/14/15 - wingstop, pours a golden light Amber color. Medium mouthfeel, average carbonation. Aroma is caramel, malt spices. Taste is caramel, malty, toffee sweetness, bready slight bitterness. Great Octoberfest!
specksofdust - September 27, 2013All the things that make the good Karl beers good, make this good. Thick roasty frothy malts, like those in draft Red Trolley, make this brew delicious. I would really like to try it in draft if, like other Karl beers, its significantly better out of the tap.
