The bottle says this TJs is brewed in San Jose, probably by Gordon Biersch. GB makes one of my favorite Octoberfest for its restaurants. I don?t see why they would use the same recipe. It certainly does not taste as malty or smooth. And it does not match my mass market standard Sam Adams. A bit too bitter.

This is a miss. No good mister

Definitely an American style Oktoberfest with American hops in the finish. Malt is more biscuit like than caramel like and fits GABF guidelines for the style. It does lack the intangibles that would make it better.

Meh, not bad but too light and lagerish

Dry and bitter. Metallic after taste.
1 at a sitting.

Dominant note is metal, specifically dirty penny copper. It's not very malty, not very good. High points are its crispness and high carb. I won't drink it again.

considering the price, I'm rating this on drinkability. there's a lot more flavor here than say the $6 6-pack variety IPA's. might not be very true to style, but it's enjoyable if you're on a budget.

Crisp and not very malty for the style. In fact the finish is much more bitter than is typical. This is almost ashy tasting on the finish. The color is deep amber and slightly cloudy. The head is moderate and quickly disappating.
