My least favorite of the Elf series. It's not what I consider to be an imperial red. I would put it closer to a barley wine. Even so, it's overly sweet. This beer definitely needs some hops to counter the sweetness.

A very sweet holiday beer. Very sting also at 11.2%abv. Has a strong honey taste.

Pours red with a thin head that quickly disappears. Has a mild barley wine like aroma. Somewhat fruity taste with high alcohol level noticeable especially near the end of the glass. In retrospect a beer like this should be enjoyed in a sherry glass 6 oz or so a a time. This beer is rather cloying and a full glass is too much

Very sweet and malty with a definite alcohol taste. Not bad, not great.

Over ripe cantaloupe nose. Burnt orange in color. Rye flavor stands out. Alcohol taste is prevalent. Sweet and dry.
