Opaque black in color with a thick tan head that slowly bubbles and dissipates leaving lacing down the glass and a thin rim on top of the beer. Nice pungent pleasant aromas of slightly sweet roasted malt and black coffee. Medium in body with a silky mouthfeel initial flavors of dark chocolate followed by warming espresso coffee. A nice bitter coffee finish. Definitely smooth and enjoyable hiding it's 9% abv. Another solid beer from climbing bines.
