I remember using the phrase 'nut brown ale', but it seems to have been buried in the avalanche of new and exciting hoppy pales, that now rule the beer universe. However, this beer has caused me to dig down and resurrect it; a slightly old ale feel to this ESB, with a massive malt and understated hops being the reason. A real throw-back to bitters old old. Minus a star for being bottle conditioned.
