The dark rye malt makes for a nice rich deep note, doesn't taste like an ipa (less hoppy than expected, but this works well with the malt.

Combo of stout and IPA. Both Amy and I enjoyed.

It was very hoppy but it had a distinct and unpleasant oily aftertaste the hung around like a relative at Thanksgiving.

Small sample at a Black IPA tasting. Definite hop in the aroma with your roasted malt in the background. However the taste almost had a resinous character as it rolled over the tongue; slick, oiliness with a different hoppy flavor. My least favorite of the night and probably would seek out the others before I try this one again.
