A-. Drinking a BA (Jack Daniels barrels) 2015 version (12.81%) at the end of 2022. Still good, but the lack of hops makes this seem pretty sweet.

A. Not sure what style this is, brewer called it a barrel aged quadruple IPA. Reminds me of a barrel aged Bigfoot. Sweet and boozy with some hops in the background.

A- to A+. Some bottles can have an off/shrimp aroma that goes away to yield Citra and Simcoe hops. The barrel aged has a taste of oak and bourbon and less hop presence.

B. Too much residual sweetness and a chemical flavor or shrimp taste. Had another bottle and it seemed much better, not chemical or shrimp taste. Still very dank and sweet and Citra and Simcoe. Now an A. The barrel aged is an A+, very old ale barleywine like.

APPEARANCE - 1-finger head that dissipates. Light, clear. Tons of lacing.
AROMA/SCENT - Hops, fruit, sweet.
TASTE - Hops, pine. ABV unbelievably well-hidden.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Good carbonation, dry, lingering, light, effervescent, crisp, acidic, refreshing.
VALUE - $12 for a 10-oz glass. Pricey for domestic draft.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - This is the first Quadrupel Imperial IPA I've tasted. Yet another hophead masterpiece from Knee Deep.

Too much of a grapefruit flavor

4.5/5 -November 2014 @ 13.1% - I love hops & their flavor, but in the same way that when hot chiles are used I require balance in the flavor so that it is not flavorless heat, I require malt flavor & sweetness to balance hops so that they do not simply convey flavorless bitterness. While this might be too sweet for bitter bums, this is my idea of doing it right. Like Fresh Squeezed IPA, the bitterness is not the star. I am not all about dank flavor like Altamont Brewing is, but this dank flavor is complex enough to be quite nice.
