janomac - November 21, 2019A very nice and nutty ale. Short-lived head of fine foam. No lacing. The hazelnut flavor sneaks up on you after a couple sips, then lingers...maybe just a little too long. Sweet, but not overly so. Really nice at a cool room temperature. Smooth mouthfeel; silky at first, then feels like caramel. Not at all heavy. Lighter than a porter and with only a 5% ABV it doesn?t smack your tongue, but feels substantial like a rich porter or an oatmeal stout.
I would not choose as a regular item, but makes a nice and interesting treat.
