Too sweet

Not a lot of alcohol heat for 10%, making it very drinkable. Sweet, corny. Sweet smell, smooth finish.

Simply the best barleywine I had ever. More sweet then bitter, smoky, fruity. Will buy a lot when comes out again in fall 2012.

Oaky, grassy taste. Sweet, winey. Ambivalent, not sure I'd buy it again.

Lighter body and flavor than typical barley wine. Not sure I like the oakiness.

Tasty, but heavy brew that would be a one and done for a night.

One if the best barley wines and Sam Adams I've had. VERY sneaky ten percent. Smooth and just enough malty sweetness to finish it off.

Notes of juniper aroma and up front flavor, thick white head, golden color, bit of an alcohol bite at finish, which at 10% abc is hard to mask. As far as barley wines go (not my favorite style), not bad.

Malty mouth feel, with pleasant hops in the middle. Notes of honey. A sweet aftertaste. Good medium carbonation but it's lost in the body. Not sure if it's a keeper or a leaver.
