Following others lead here in ignoring the year in favor of having one entry. I had the 2016 version, released in early 2018. This beer breaks no new ground for Unibroue, North American masters of the Belgian strong ale. But this is another solid entry. Very bubbly, yet somehow mellow at the same time. Fig, caramel, raisins predominate. Like a good wine, takes on more complexity with food, with dinner. And this latter quality does really recommend it as I tend to think of strong beer as being better before a meal, with appetizers at most. Definitely recommended?but with one major reservation: at $12 or $13 for a bomber the value is not ideal.

Complex dark fruits raisin and figs; spice and oaky forward taste; aged two yrs

Very pleasant aroma, heavily carbonated. Champagne like bubbly and sweet. A bit of acidic aftertaste and oak.

Birthday present, drank on Last night in Washington with Marilyn, beautiful plum brown color, fruity smell, fig flavors and creamy head. $20 beer is always better when gifted!

Very surprising did year 2011 had a very fruity aroma ! Murky brown color! Acidic almost champagne like taste
