03AUG14, Against the Grain, Louisville, KY Draft, pilsner Pours a clear golden straw color with big white head that quickly dissipates to a minor film, though with moderate lacing. Aroma is mellow, having a light and playful citrusyness about it. Not too much of any one thing. Not too much lemon, though there's a zest to it. The flavor is initially very bright and star-twinkly, and just barely fades in its brilliance as the beer continues. Right before the brilliance takes too considerable a drop off, there's a little poke of bitterness that halts the decline and then it disappears, leaving a dry, yet zesty finish. It's not a crisp finish, and not dry, and not one I would say has any wetness. Very intriguing, and a great beer to drink on a summer day, though with some water to keep your mouth from getting too dry. Or perhaps just more beer.
