Catfishbunter - June 5, 2015Aroma of strong coffee, lightly roasted malt, and sweeter notes of honey. It has a nearly opaque black tint with splashed of dark red near the glass. No head. Immediately it has a sweet and spicy taste, with the expected taste of coffee and more surprising spicy notes you find in barleywines and meads -- nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices up front. The finish has the acidic and flavorful taste of black coffee with a sweet hint of honey. Solid effort. 4 stars.
