Dunkels and scwarzbiers are some of my favorite German styles and this beer really does nothing to approximate either one of them. It's a standard Canadian dark lager, which means it's too sweet and syrupy to really be enjoyable. Somehow they achieved no roasty or malty flavors. Just syrupy sweetness with very little hop flavor or crispness. Disappointing.
