A very complex profile; I ordered this not realizing it was a Flanders Red Ale. Thatvfirstbsip was quite a surprise!

Dark ruby red color with an ivory head. Carbonation is great. aroma is complex, stone fruit and pumpernickel bread present. Mouthfeel is surprising, sticky-sweet, but dry finish. Flavor similar to fruitier merlot wine(?!), balsamic and oak in the mid-palate, and that's skimming the surface. Fantastic. Going to try after aging a while.

Sweet and sour cherry sauce. Highly carbonated, splendid ale.

Tastes strongly of balsamic vinegar, but in a good way (in my opinion). I have not met many people besides myself who simply like this beer -- most either love it or hate it. Another commenter mentioned making bread with it, and I am intrigued....

I love this beer. It tastes like a hybrid of wine and beer, and is especially good if you can find it on tap.

Sweet & sour perfection.

Makes good beer bread, but neither Russ nor I could drink it.
