Huge coffee flavor.. sweet creamy start, reminiscent of high grade cream ale, with mostly cild brew coffee flavors coming through ...also touch of caramel and malty sweetness masks the typical barley wine booziness... easy drinking .. a sipper but could easily pound..solid top tier barleywine... complex, but the sweetness could become overwhelming.. drink in moderation...4 stars nonetheless all things considered

Pours amber with a white head. The head dissipates quickly to a thin white ring. The nose is oaky very much like Old Soul that the beer is started with. But the flavor is very coffee. It is an interesting pairing and a good beer not really what I expected. The ABV is high, as you would expect in a barleywine, but not at all present in the taste, so can creep up if not careful. Interesting beer and good sipper.
