Good but a little stringent on the backend.
Fireballlk - March 5, 2015
Bitter, some sweet caramel/vanilla undertones; piney aftertaste; good

For the ABV content I was delighted with the hoppyness and Mina's alcohol. A pleasant surprise and was fairly easy to drink. Definitely would drink again.

Nice and warm perfect for winter

Caramel in color with foamy head. Nice and sweet nose. Good strong example of an American barleywine, nice caramel/vanilla maltiness, good citrus/pine from hops, bitter finish with good alcohol warmth.

There is not a brew that Clown Shoes makes that I dislike. This one, however, isn't a favorite of mine and isn't their best. It's a bit simple, with a basic hop bite and caramel body. With there were more nitrating things about. I'd still drink it again, without question, but wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

2014 batch- Dry hopped with Chinook, pretty straight forward American barleywine, one dimensional, caramel/vanilla maltiness, slight citrus/pine from hops, bitter finish with some alc heat, a little too sweet/syrupy for me, wish there was a little more going on

Pleasant aroma. Full malt flavor with nice alcohol warmth. Great beer. Had on tap on Columbus.

Overly hoppy for a barleywine.
