cheftimjones@hotmail.com - December 15, 2012Enjoyable Christmas ale, better than average. Malty, light citrus flavor, toffee and an amber color. A drinking, not sipping beer. MUCH better than the their cheaper 'Mild Winter' ale. I expected more complex flavor from Goose Island though, who make so many good beers.

wordnerdguy - December 8, 2012Gorgeous, rich dark caramel color. Long-lasting, thick two-fingered head the color of honey butter. Light citrus notes on the nose, like orange zest. Subtle spices and a hint of caramel. Deep malt flavor, full-bodied, bitter finish. A bit too bitter for my hop-cautious tastes. I get more hops on the nose the deeper I get into the session. A solid 3 stars here, and I'd give it a 92 in the real world. Definitely a Christmas season beer. I like it.
