bockboy@att.net - July 1, 2021Had the 20 & 21 side by side in July of 2021. Liked the 20 a bit better as it had more of a sherry aged flavor. So A- and B+ for 21. These are old ales with abv of 11%, 2015 and 2016 vintages.
bockboy@att.net - February 28, 2016B+. If not so boozy, this would be an A. Strong bourbon and musty barrel aroma with a sweet malt and bourbon flavor. Had an older version and it was mellowed, thus an A. 2015 drank 2016, so age one year and it is great. Had the 2018, 23, on 2-2019 and the booze was not too hot. Label says it is a barley wine. I agree.
eagle_gwaihir - February 14, 2013Vanilla oak, caramel notes. Now that's what a Bourbon barrel should do! This is intensely sweet with a strong note of Bourbon (no kidding right?) It comes across like sucking on a sweet candy... Probably the malts.
